Having known Christine Smith for about a decade, both as an employer and a friend, I know that she personifies what our Founders expressed and intended at the time when our nation was born. She stands far above the pettiness I tend to see in today’s politics and her character shields her from such corruptible passions as ambition and interest. Colorado’s citizens should be honored that a person of her integrity is willing to stand up for our public good.

I am confident that Christine Smith will be a true fiscal conservative as the next Colorado State Representative for House District 60.

As a computer programmer and systems analyst, facts are of the utmost importance for the decisions that I make. Since 1976, the Colorado Union of Taxpayers (CUT) — www.coloradotaxpayer.org — has been tracking how each state legislator votes on bills that affect taxes, spending, and property rights. The highest ratings are received by legislators who vote for lower taxes, less spending, and less government. The lowest ratings are received by legislators who vote for higher taxes, more spending, and more government intrusion in our lives.

The CUT ratings received by the incumbent HD 60 Representative, Republican Tom Massey, were 50.00% for 2009 — ranked 25th out of 27 House Republicans, 14.81% for 2008 — ranked 25th (the worst) out of 25 House Republicans, 32.00% for 2007 — ranked 24th out of 26 House Republicans, 24.00% for 2006 — ranked 28th out of 30 House Republicans, and 40.00% for 2005 — ranked 26th out of 30 House Republicans. In comparison, the highest CUT ratings — all of which were received by other Colorado House Republicans — were 100.00% for 2009, 92.59% for 2008, 100.00% for 2007, 96.00% for 2006, and 96.00% for 2005.

Christine explains on the “Your Money & Property” page on her campaign web site (www.electchristinesmith.com), “We've got way too much spending of time and taxpayer money on matters that aren't (or shouldn't be) involving the state government. I'm not interested in ‘redistributing’ or ‘prioritizing’ your taxpayer money – I'm interested in working to cut government spending – not just limit it, repeal expenditures on existing unnecessary programs, and fight the imposition of increased taxation/fees/licensure or any other means the state government uses to take your hard earned money.” She signed CUT’s pledge, which includes her promises “to oppose any new net tax increase,” “to limit government spending to growth of Colorado population and inflation,” and “to support the refund of surplus taxes to the citizens of Colorado proportional to their contributions.”

Based on irrefutable data, your choice for Colorado State Representative, House District 60 is clear. You can reelect a Republican who has a five-year record of voting for higher taxes, more spending, and more government intrusion in your lives. Or, you can elect a true fiscal conservative, Libertarian Christine Smith, who will be on your November ballot.

I was an elected Republican committeeman for 10 years in Illinois and I have lived in Colorado for 9 years. I, as well as others I have talked with in Colorado, are fed up with legislators who increase taxes and pass laws to reduce our liberties. Small businesses are the backbone of this country and have been harmed by legislators both at the federal and local levels. Christine Smith is a candidate for State Representative for HD60 in Colorado. I know that Christine is a person of integrity and would make an excellent State Representative for Colorado, it’s time to get rid of the “good old boy network” of tax and spend policies, it’s time for a real change!

There can be no doubt that if elected Christine Smith would represent the 60th District with the highest integrity. Over the years her dedication to liberty and her tireless efforts to advance it have greatly impressed me.

From upholding property and gun rights, cutting taxes and regulations, to protecting Colorado from the federal government's unconstitutional mandates, on all the issues she gets it right.

If you care about freedom, individual liberty, property rights, and the future of Colorado, you should be voting for Christine Smith. She is grounded in the principles of limited government and individual responsibility.

Christine is an articulate defender of America, as it was envisioned by the Founding Fathers.

Christine will be a representative, not a politician. She puts principles above politics.

Christine Smith is intelligent and action-oriented. She studies issues and considers how government actions would affect the ability of ordinary citizens to live their lives as our Founders intended. When she writes and speaks, she is educating and encouraging others to strive to be free and not shackled by unnecessary government regulations and taxes.

Christine Smith has the knowledge and enthusiasm that it takes to get the job done in Denver! I'm happy to recommend that you vote for Christine Smith to be your Congresswoman for House District 60.

As the number of legislators who understand the importance of true freedom increases at the state and local level, restoring and maintaining liberty for all of us across this nation becomes a more sure thing.

If I could vote in the HD60 district of Colorado State House of Representatives, I would enthusiastically vote for Christine Smith.

I first heard her talk to a group in February 2007, and I said "Her statements are incredibly refreshing." And, she has not stopped or deviated from advocating what we personally want – the freedom to make our own choices in life without disturbing other people.

To have a woman like Christine Smith speaking and advocating libertarian principles as clearly and honestly as she does shows that individual freedom may blossom and grow, at least in Colorado.

Christine Smith is a hard-working, no-nonsense Libertarian. She would be a consistent defender of the people's right to personal freedom and responsibility … the core values of libertarianism. The people of her state district would be fortunate to have her as their representative.
